Memorable Beach side Weddings at The Palms
At The Palms at Pelican Cove, the staff shares one philosophy about weddings. No two are the same. Every wedding celebration is as unique as the Bride and Groom themselves. The Palms is the host location for many dozens of weddings yearly and takes great pride in having been selected Best Wedding Venue on St Croix by the readers of the Virgin Islands Daily News consecutively for several years.
Although The Palms has 1400 feet of beach front, most weddings occur in the lovely Coconut Palm Grove, set in close approximation to the Common Areas and the Guest Buildings. The natural palm arches leading from the Coconut Palm Grove to the shoreline where the ocean kisses the sand, is a memorable location for the “I Do’s”. The crash of the ocean waves and the rustle of the palm fronds seem to evoke the perfect island ambiance for an ocean side beach wedding. Your first dance can be barefoot on the beach, with palm trees swaying to the beat of the music. The outdoor restaurant, bar and pool deck spill right onto the sandy beach. The perfectly located bandstand can showcase St. Croix’s local music scene as you’d like it – a DJ and your favorite songs, the tropical sounds of live steel pan drums, classic jazz, Caribbean reggae, salsa, or even a classical music ensemble. Your options for the many aspects of a wedding and reception at The Palms are almost endless.
For a couple traveling alone, we offer a special Just the Two of Us Wedding Package, where we will take care of the aspects of the package for you (see info below). For larger weddings, we are happy to rent the venue space to you and work with your wedding planner or coordinator or a decorator, to ensure a special and memorable celebration. Venue space for Wedding Ceremonies is usually our lovely Coconut Palm Grove, a secluded ocean side beach setting with a large expanse of soft sand set among towering Palms, with the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea just feet away. Venue space for Cocktail Hours and Receptions is most often in one of several beach side locations. The most frequent location is our stately Mahogany Dining Room, with arched windows that look out onto the beach and ocean. Occasionally the wedding party reception may be set up at our open-air beach side dining pavilion, which offers a more relaxed setting. At other times, the reception (and often the cocktail hour) is in our open-air Courtyard, which is a large expanse of area open to the stars, conveniently surrounded by the beautiful pool, the Mahogany Bar, the open-air Breezeway, the bandstand, and the beach side open-air dining pavilion. All of this right on the beach, where you might even have Tiki Torches to set off the reflection of the moon and the stars on the Sea.
Although The Palms does not have a wedding planner, coordinator or decorator on staff, we work very closely with all of the persons and vendors on St Croix who perform these services. The General Manager Julie Printy and her Assistant Manager Marc Mullins have worked hundreds of weddings spanning over the past decades, and have a wealth of experience with and information on everyone from wedding planners to Officiants or Ministers, to professional photographers, florists, bakers, and musicians and entertainers. We are happy to offer catering for your cocktail hour and reception, working with your planner or decorator for the actual details of the event. The Palms staff has extensive experience working wedding receptions and is dedicated to you and your special day.

When you have both your wedding and reception with us and your wedding guests reserve a combined minimum total of 30 room nights directly with us, the Bride and Groom’s Beachfront Honeymoon Guest Room is complimentary for up to six nights! Group rate discounts are available for rooms booked directly with the hotel and may not apply to rooms booked through a third party, travel agent, or tour operator. A certain quantity of rooms or room night guarantees is required for discount. Minimum dollar amounts may be required for catering for receptions to combine group discount and complimentary room nights.
