Meet the Managers and Staff of The Palms

St. Croix is home to two world-class golf courses, one 9-hole course, mini-golf, and a driving range.

Joyce and Chuck Fischer, Managing Partners and Residents of The Palms at Pelican Cove on St. Croix.

The Palms at Pelican Cove hotel is owned by Pelican Cove Investments LLC, a Virgin Islands company. Chuck and Joyce Fischer are the managing directors of the company, and are full-time residents at the hotel, along with Misha, their Bichon Frise. They both come from large families as they each have five siblings. And between them, they have seven children and six (soon to be nine) grandchildren scattered between Oklahoma, USA and Alberta, Canada. They frequently comment that they pretty much need the entire hotel just to have their family down for a visit.

In addition to their business and residence on St. Croix, they also have business interests and homes in Oklahoma and Alberta. As they travel regularly, they have their own aircraft, which Chuck, who has been flying for 44 years, pilots. Their frequent traveling and family backgrounds give Chuck and Joyce a personal insight into what it really takes to be successful in the hospitality industry, and to have a wonderful life while doing it. They like nothing better than to spend time with hotel guests, and as they are both "retired", they make sure they have lots of time for it.

Chuck is also an environment enthusiast and is presently working closely with the St. Croix Environmental Association. He loves to take guests at the Palms on a guided snorkeling tour of the coral reef that sits in shallow water just off the hotel's beach. Make sure you let the front desk know you'd like to join in. A mask, fins and snorkel will be provided for you.

The General Manager of The Palms is Julie Printy. Julie has been at the hotel for 10 years and has been a resident of St. Croix for 20 years. She knows the hotel and the island very well. Julie is highly respected on St. Croix as being a competent business person, and is also admired for her philanthropic work. She loves the hospitality industry and is very much a "people" person. Julie bubbles with personality, and will go to almost any length to ensure guest satisfaction.
