The Palms at Pelican Cove received the very first internationally recognized Blue Flag in the U.S. Virgin Islands! On Dec 1, 2011 at 9am, environmental history was made in the U.S. Virgin Islands when the very first Blue Flag was raised on the beach at The Palms at Pelican Cove. The following month, readers of the Virgin Islands Daily news voted The Palms the "Best Beach Resort on St. Croix" for 2012.

A significant internationally recognized achievement, the flying of the Blue Flag symbolizes that a property offers the highest standards regarding water quality, safety, environmental management and education. The Blue Flag program became an international award in 1987 and has since spread across the globe. With the inclusion of the U.S. Virgin Islands, Blue Flag sites total 3,650 total throughout Europe, South Africa, Brazil, Canada and The Caribbean. Presently, the only Blue Flag on St. Croix is at The Palms at Pelican Cove, and remains the first ever in the Virgin Islands.

Because the beach spans the entire length of The Palms' property, you will have a beautiful beach and sea view from just about anywhere on the resort grounds. Never more than a few feet away, the long stretch of beach has plenty of room for you to take a leisurely walk, go for a jog, build a sandcastle with your kids, or let the sound of the waves lull you to sleep as you relax in a lounge chair.

No need to pack your own snorkel gear as The Palms has fins, snorkels and masks in every size for guests to use. Our friendly staff is happy to lend these to you, help you find the right fit, and give you some tips on snorkeling the fringes of Long Reef, which is just a few yards off shore. Once you get the hang of it, consider signing up for a St. Croix Snorkeling excursion with S.C.U.B.A. or another tour operator.
